Ayurvedic Doctor Ajay Kumar Explains About Ayurveda

Contributed by: (http://www.india-herbs.com):

Considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science, Ayurveda is a holistic approach to health that is designed to help people live long, healthy, and well-balanced lives. The term Ayurveda is taken from the Sanskrit words ayus, meaning life or lifespan, and veda, meaning knowledge. It has been practiced in India for at least 5,000 years and has only recently became popular in Western cultures. The “contemporary” form of Ayurvedic medicine is mostly derived from several sacred Indian texts which were written in Sanskrit between 1500 BC and 400 AD. The basic principle of Ayurveda is to prevent illness by maintaining balance in the body, mind, and consciousness through proper drinking, diet, and lifestyle, as well as herbal remedies.

There are two main types of Ayurveda: traditional and Maharishi. The latter is a version of traditional Ayurveda based on translations from the classical texts by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Both types of Ayurvedic practitioners prescribe herbs, believe that disease results from an imbalance in the doshas (see below), and use many of the same remedies for treating illness. Maharishi Ayurveda, however, stresses the role of supreme consciousness in maintaining good health, and promotes Transcendental Meditation (TM) as a method for experiencing the pure consciousness of the universe. Maharishi Ayurveda also highlights the need to express positive emotions and to attune your life to the natural rhythms of the body.

How does it work?

Just as everyone has a unique thumbprint, according to Ayurvedic beliefs, each person has a distinct pattern of energy — a specific combination of physical, mental, and emotional characteristics. It is also believed that there are three basic energy types called doshas, present in every person:

Vata — energy that regulates bodily functions associated with motion including blood circulation, breathing, blinking, and the beating of the heart. When vata energy is balanced, there is creativity and vitality. Out of balance, vata produces fear and anxiety.
Pitta — energy that governs the body’s metabolic systems including digestion, absorption, nutrition, and body temperature. In balance, pitta promotes contentment and intelligence. Out of balance, pitta can cause ulcers and arouse anger.
Kapha — energy that controls growth in the body. It supplies water to all body parts, moisturizes the skin, and maintains the immune system. In balance, kapha is expressed as love and forgiveness. Out of balance, kapha leads to insecurity and envy.
All people have vata, pitta, and kapha, but usually one or two are dominant in a given individual. Many factors can disturb the dosha balance such as stress, an unhealthy diet, the weather, and strained family relationships. Such disturbance is expressed in the body as disease. Ayurvedic practitioners prescribe treatments designed to bring the doshas back into balance.

From a Western medical perspective, relief of stress appears to be one of the ways that Ayurveda works to help fight illness. For example, studies have found that Transcendental Meditation, a component of Maharishi Ayurveda, reduces anxiety. Other studies have found that Ayurveda lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, slows the aging process, and speeds recovery from illness. The herbs used in Ayurvedic medicine often have antioxidant effects, which means that they may help protect against the damage from free radicals (by-products of normal metabolism in the body) like long term illnesses such as heart disease and arthritis. Many Ayurvedic practitioners also recommend a vegetarian diet, which is believed to be better for your heart than diets containing red meat.

What should I expect from an Ayurvedic treatment?

Ayurvedic treatment focuses on rebalancing the doshas . On your first visit, the practitioner will take a detailed medical history, check your pulse, palpate your abdomen, examine your tongue, eyes, nails, and skin, and listen to the tone of your voice. He or she will also ask you questions about your general state of health with special focus on your lifestyle, diet, habits, and environmental surroundings. Based on this assessment, he or she will then make recommendations on how to restore your natural dosha balance, which almost always includes changes in lifestyle, particular diet. Practitioners draw from more than 20 types of treatment, but the most commonly prescribed include:

Ayurvedic Medicine For Optimizing Cardiovascular Health

Contributed by: (http://www.india-herbs.com)

Cardiovascular disease refers to the class of diseases that involve the heart and/or blood vessels (arteries and veins). While the term technically refers to any disease that affects the cardiovascular system, it is usually used to refer to those related to atherosclerosis (arterial disease). These conditions have similar causes, mechanisms, and treatments. In practice, cardiovascular disease is treated by cardiologists, thoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons, neurologists, and interventional radiologists, depending on the organ system that is being treated. There is considerable overlap in the specialties, and it is common for certain procedures to be performed by different types of specialists in the same hospital.

Most Western countries face high and increasing rates of cardiovascular disease. Each year, heart disease kills more Americans than cancer. Diseases of the heart alone caused 30% of all deaths, with other diseases of the cardiovascular system causing substantial further death and disability. It is the number 1 cause of death and disability in the United States and most European countries. A large histological study (PDAY) showed vascular injury accumulates from adolescence, making primary prevention efforts necessary from childhood. By the time that heart problems are detected, the underlying cause (atherosclerosis) is usually quite advanced, having progressed for decades. There is therefore increased emphasis on preventing atherosclerosis by modifying risk factors, such as healthy eating, exercise and avoidance of smoking.

Attempts to prevent cardiovascular disease are more effective when they remove and prevent causes, and they often take the form of modifying risk factors. Some factors, such as gender, age, and family history, cannot be modified. Smoking cessation (or abstinence) is one of the most effective and easily modifiable changes. Regular cardiovascular exercise (aerobic exercise) complements the healthful eating habits. According to the American Heart Association, build up of plaque on the arteries (atherosclerosis), partly as a result of high cholesterol and fat diet, is a leading cause for cardiovascular diseases. The combination of healthy diet and exercise is a means to improve serum cholesterol levels and reduce risks of cardiovascular diseases; if not, a physician may prescribe “cholesterol-lowering” drugs, such as the statins. These medications have additional protective benefits aside from their lipoprotein profile improvement. Aspirin may also be prescribed, as it has been shown to decrease the clot formation that may lead to myocardial infarctions and strokes; it is routinely prescribed for patients with one or more cardiovascular risk factors.

One possible way to decrease risk of cardiovascular disease is keep your total cholesterol below 150. In the Framingham Heart Study, those with total cholesterol below 150 only very rarely got coronary heart disease.

A magnesium deficiency, or lower levels of magnesium, can contribute to heart disease and a healthy diet that contains adequate magnesium may prevent heart disease. Magnesium can be used to enhance long term treatment, so it may be effective in long term prevention.Excess calcium may contribute to a buildup of calcium in the veins. Excess calcium can cause a magnesium deficiency, and magnesium can reduce excess calcium.

Eating oily fish at least twice a week may help reduce the risk of sudden death and arrhythmias. A 2005 review of 97 clinical trials by Studer et al. noted that omega-3 fats gave lower risk ratios than did statins. Olive oil is said to have benefits. Studies of individual heart cells showed that fatty acids blocked excessive sodium and calcium currents in the heart, which could otherwise cause dangerous, unpredictable changes in its rhythm.

Treatment

Treatment of cardiovascular disease depends on the specific form of the disease in each patient, but effective treatment always includes preventive lifestyle changes discussed above. Medications, such as blood pressure reducing medications, aspirin and the statin cholesterol-lowering drugs may be helpful. In some circumstances, surgery or angioplasty may be warranted to reopen, repair, or replace damaged blood vessels.

Transfer Factor- Health the natural way 1

http://www.ybsick.net
Dr.Rob Robertson will reveal to you the secret to Boost your Immune System IQ without using Drugs. The Secret is the discovery of “Transfer Factor” .

its Not Drugs, Not Vitamins, Not Mineral, Not Anti-biotic, Not Herbs.

its a Natural Molecule and Its going to change the way we look after our body

What are Transfer Factors?

not a vitamin

not a mineral

not a herb

not a phytonutrient

Transfer Factors are the smallest molecules in colostrum. Every mother who breast-feeds her infant passes on her own immunity — in fact she passes on all of the information her immune system has gained during her lifetime. This process begins with the first milk; the pre-maternal milk called colostrum. The most valuable of the “immunity weapons” in colostrum are the smallest molecules called Transfer Factors.

2. What do Transfer Factors do?
Three important functions of transfer factors:

Boost the immune system

Increase the intelligence of the immune system

Modulate the immune system - and much, much more

1) Boosts the immune system by boosting Natural Killer (NK) cell activity. NK cells are a key part of our body’s defense against infection and sickness. They seek and destroy infected or malignant cells through direct contact. NK cells are especially important in fighting cancer cells, and cells infected by viruses, bacteria and fungi.

2) Raises our immune I.Q. Transfer Factors download a ‘blueprint’ of the mother’s immune system to the recipient. This provides thousands of new ‘photographs’ for our immune system to quickly recognise new threats. They provide accurate information to build a swift attack, cutting down the time it takes to fight infection. They provide immune markers to more quickly guide T cell reactions to an invader.

3) Suppresses an over-active immune system. An out-of-control immune system attacks healthy cells. The suppressor fraction of Transfer Factor dampens down this activity. This fraction of Transfer Factor is particularly effective in helping autoimmune conditions.

Modern Adaptation of Ancient Chinese Medicine

MODERN ADAPTATION of Ancient Chinese Medicine.
Chinese medicine has already reached maturity long time ago before the birth of Western medicine. Many ailments nowadays such as high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, etc. depend on modern scientific instruments and blood tests for detection and monitoring. Does ancient natural healing have a role to play? Can Chinese herbal knowledge be adapted to treat these ailments? The answer is yes of course, if the herbalist knows how. Nature always provides us with the things we need, but it may not be in a simple direct way.

This video is an attempt to explain how the adaptation can be done. With the ancient knowledge of herbs, the herbalist must employ good skills and reasoning to make it work in the modern world. This requires an understanding of the nature of the illness, and equally important, the cultural and historical context of Chinese medicine. The following are some illustrations:

CHOLESTEROL
Cholesterol is a relatively recent discovery by modern scientific methods. This Western name has no equivalent in classical Chinese medicine. The Chinese could not possibly have known that cholesterol existed at that time without the benefit of blood tests. That is why there is no cholesterol herb in the herbal dictionaries, except in rumors or advertising. Has there been any lab test nowadays to confirm a cholesterol herb? The businessman will always say yes but he cannot cite a truly reliable or authoritative source.

Since most cholesterol comes from the food you eat, especially fat, the logical approach for treatment is to strengthen the stomach and the liver with the appropriate herbs so that the cholesterol will be broken down and pushed out of the body more effectively. This approach relies on two major organs to do the work with the herbs as ammunition (A separate video will be published later).

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
Your blood pressure can be measured easily with a simple modern instrument nowadays. In the old times, people relied on the feeling of a “rushing pulse” or “swollen head” which were far from accurate. The fact that high blood pressure can easily lead to a stroke was not well understood. That is why we have the term “zhong feng” ????, which means being hit by the wind. This shows that the Chinese in the old times were not sure about the cause of a stroke. The use of the wind factor to describe a stroke was convenient and puzzling, but not accurate enough.

The herbal approach to high blood pressure is to calm the body especially the liver, to enhance blood circulation, and to regulate water in the blood. There exist plenty of herbs for application when the right approach has been defined this way (A separate video will be published later).

DIABETES
In the old times when flush toilets were nonexistent, urines and excrements were collected and picked up every morning from each family and used as fertilizers. In some families with diabetic members, people always saw ants around their urine containers. This led to the term “sugar urine” ???? because everybody knew ants loved sugar. It did not take them too long to identify the diabetics and their symptoms. However, the causes of diabetes still remained vaguely understood except being linked to sugar and something wrong with the kidneys.

Since diabetes means sugar content in the urine, the Chinese herbal approach is to strengthen the kidneys, to nourish the blood, to regulate the water content, and to boost blood circulation so as to burn off the excess sugar (A separate video will be published later).

FLU
The idea of contagious disease was first discussed in “Shang Han Lun” ????? circa 200 A.D. However, the existence of the flu virus never occurred in classical Chinese medicine without the benefit of the microscope, which was invented much later. The Chinese term for flu is “gan mao” ????, which means catching something risky.

Even without knowing the existence of the flu virus, the Chinese were able to understand the flu quite well long time ago by carefully studying the symptoms of the disease. They have also derived a logical approach for treatment, which has proven very effective. Chinese herbs for flu and cough can help a person recover within a few days by purging all the “disease poisons” ???? from the body. As a comparison, Western medicine focuses on antibiotics to kill the flu virus. One thing we all agree is that the body is capable of killing the virus because of our inborn immune system. Should we kill the virus for the body, or should we help the body to kill the virus? It all depends on which approach you want to take (See separate videos on flu and cough already published by same author).

Ayurvedic Medicine Saves 3 Time Stroke Patient (Part 2)

Contributed by: (http://www.india-herbs.com):

The goal of Ayurvedic medicine is to prevent diseases before they occur. Studies have suggested that Ayurveda may be particularly effective at reducing the risk of heart disease. For example, a recent study found that this traditional Indian medicine helped reduce plaque and reverse the thickening of artery walls known as atherosclerosis in both healthy adults as well as adults at high risk for heart disease. (Atherosclerosis is a slow, complex disease in which fatty substances, cholesterol, cellular waste products, calcium, and other substances build up in the inner lining of an artery. This build-up, also known as plaque, can lead to heart attack and stroke.)
Combining yoga with an Ayurvedic herbal remedy containing Winter cherry (Withania somnifera), Boswellia (Boswellia serrata), and Turmeric (Curcuma longa) can reduce pain and disability if you have arthritis.
What should I expect from an Ayurvedic treatment?
Ayurvedic treatment focuses on rebalancing the doshas.
• Pranayama — breathing exercises. Practicing pranayama generates feelings of calmness.
• Abhyanga — rubbing the skin with herbalized oil (usually sesame oil is the base) to increase blood circulation and draw toxins out of the body through the skin.
• Rasayana — using mantras (repeated words or phrases) during meditation combined with specific herbs to rejuvenate a person.
• Yoga — combining pranayama, movement, and meditation. Has been shown to improve circulation and digestion, and to reduce blood pressure, cholesterol levels, anxiety, and chronic pain.
• Pancha karma — cleansing the body of toxins to purify the body and reduce cholesterol. Practitioners use methods to induce sweat, bowel movements, and even vomit in an effort to cleanse the body of toxins.
• Herbal medicines — prescribing herbs to restore dosha balance.
Physiotherapy accompanied by herbal medication can alleviate the symptoms of a paralytic stroke. The vitalizing body massages prevent the inactive muscles from atrophying and medication helps to improve the circulatory system. Regular Panchakarma prevents stroke by maintaining normal blood pressure and keeping the arteries healthy. The endothelium of the arteries gets damaged due to accumulation of toxins and subsequent formation of thrombus. These thrombi, when dislodged, can cause stroke. Regular Panchakarma and Ayurveda lifestyle prevents this catastrophe.

A number of Ayurvedic herbal remedes have been evaluated for their beneficial effects. For example, Guggulipid (Commiphora mukul), a traditional Ayurvedic medication used to treat high cholesterol, is widely used in India. It appears to effectively lower cholesterol by blocking the production of cholesterol in the liver. Similarly, fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum) seeds can decrease LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, and increase HDL cholesterol levels. These effects seem to be due to reduced intestinal absorption of cholesterol, and may be related to the high fiber content of the seed. Fenugreek seeds may also help control your blood sugars if you have diabetes, again because of the high fiber content.

Other Ayurvedic herbs are being studied as treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, asthma, dementia, dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation), herpes, high blood pressure, Parkinson’s disease, perimenopausal problems, and premenstrual syndrome, amongst many other conditions. Ayurvedic herbs combined with conventional medications may also be helpful for acne, chronic constipation, chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, obesity, and uterine fibroids.

Be sure to consult your doctor before trying Ayurveda, especially if you take medicines or have certain dietary restrictions such as with diabetes.

Cure for Heart Disease…Without Drugs or Surgery

http://www.encognitive.com
AMERICAN SCIENTISTS SAY THEY INVENTED A CURE FOR HEART DISEASE IN 1991

According to one of the world’s most highly regarded scientists , we human beings no longer have to fear premature death or heart attack caused by progressive cardiovascular disease (CVD), undergo heart by-pass surgery or angioplasty, or suffer the chest pain of Angina Pectoris.

The medicinal substances involved are not drugs. The two primary ingredients of the Linus Pauling invention are both required in some daily amount for life itself. The great benefit comes from taking these two completely non-toxic substances in amounts much larger than one normally consumes in the diet.

Linus Pauling did not make this claim lightly, although he made it without fanfare. Pauling waited until after careful experiments at his institute confirmed the Lp(a)/vitamin C connection.

The details of this amazing discovery, its suppression by medical authorities, elements of the United States government and other governments, and the mainstream press, are described on these web pages. You can also view a Linus Pauling lecture on video tape. Pauling explains how you can return your cardiovascular health, safely, without surgery.

Thanks to medical science, it is now possible for cardiovascular disease patients to live a more healthful future; free of pain and symptoms of their former cardiovascular illness. An extraordinary claim. A claim unknown to most doctors, but one those suffering severe disease can verify for themselves in a few weeks.
