The side effects of clonidine for high blood pressure.?

This drug makes me very tired and I take .1mg twice a day.
My problem, is it makes me pee in my sleep. I don't realize until I get cold in my 'area' (I'm a 42 yr old woman) and wonder if this is a common side effect?
I also take Milk Thistle, as my liver isn't doing so well.
Which should I stop? The high blood pressure, or the liver cleanser?
Thanks.

Clonidine has been around so long that there's other medications that are better with less side effects. If you don't take your doses exactly 12 hours apart then the level in your blood falls, and that's how it works. Talk to your doctor and see if he/she can't wean you off of it and put you on something else.I'm not sure if that's what is causing your "accidents" as I'm not so sure about the MilkThistle. With this being an herbal remedy sometimes there isn't anyway to know how it will interact with the prescription medications. You must make sure your doctor is aware of any herbal medications you take. You can also ask your pharmacist about this. Never stop any medication you've been taking. The doctor has to wean you off so your body doesn't have a "shock" reaction, especially with blood pressure meds. I hoped this helps and just take the time to call your pharmacist at least and see what they say.

What is the relation between diabetes and high blood pressure? How can they effect each other?

Diabetes causes peripheral vascular arteriosclerosis, which increases vascular resistance, and increases blood pressure. Diabetes also leads to nephropathy, which damages the kidneys and causes them to retain more NaCl and water, producing a situation of hypervolemia, which also increases blood pressure.

Blood Pressure Medication Side Effects?

Hi folks

I'm a family doctor and a specialist in blood pressure treatment

http://www.bloodpressurehigh.com

I'm writing an article about the side effects of high blood pressure medication. Do you take medication for high blood pressure? What side effects have you experienced?

Did blood pressure medication side effects interfere with your day to day life?

Let me know your experiences and I'll share them with others

Thanks in advance
Gordon

I take Atenalol 25mg daily. Had major heart surgery November 2005, before that took 50mg daily. Since operation I had a metallic taste in my mouth for a while, surgeon assured me it would`nt last long and it did`nt. Many years ago took low dose Aspirin, that was ok. I may feel the cold now whereas I never did when I was younger but maybe that`s just age ! I take many meds per day and maybe only Warfarin affects my daily life as it has to be taken in a two hour window.

Will light headiness feeling go away when taking Benicar HCT for high blood pressure?

I just started taking the drug this week for high blood pressure. The side effect is mild but when I get up out of a chair, I feel lightheaded. It only last for a minute or less.

It might not.

Talk to your doctor about your side effects. There are plenty of types of blood pressure medication and you might need to have yours changed.

because of high blood pressure and the side effects of my medication, my doctor put me on E.D. drugs.?

I find that these drugs are very expensive. Have anyone tried the generic brands (viagra, ceilis, levitra) on-line pharmacies versions and if so do they work and what's a good company to buy from?

http://www.1pharmacy.biz is a trusted online pharmacy where you can get information about erectile dysfunction and treatments for ED at cheap prices! They have Holidays discount campaign, 5% cash discount for Generic drugs.

Viagra Generic vs Brand

Though they are called "generic," these prescription drugs are expected to meet the same standards required of the innovator or brand name product.

What is the difference between a Generic and Name-Brand Drug?

A Name-Brand drug is marketed under a specific trade name by a pharmaceutical manufacturer. In most cases, Name-Brand drugs are still under patent protection, meaning the manufacturer is the sole source for the product but in many Countries around the world this is not the case and a generic alternative is readily available . A generic drug is made with the same active ingredients in the same dosage form as a brand name drug. The generic drug is therapeutically equivalent to the brand name drug but is sold under its chemical or "generic" name.

Are Generic Drugs as Effective as Name-Brand Drugs?

A generic drug contains the same active ingredients in the same dosage form as a brand name drug. The strength and purity of generic medications are strictly regulated. The FDA requires all generic manufacturers to demonstrate that a generic drug will have the same medical effect as its Name-Brand equivalent by measuring the rate and extent of drug absorption. The generic drug should treat your illness or condition with the same effectiveness and safety as its brand name equivalent. Generics have to meet the same rigorous requirements as Name-Brand drugs.

Are Generic Drugs as Safe as Name-Brand Drugs?

These generics have been used billions of times by millions of patients, demonstrating again that Name-Brand and generic name drug have the same effect in the body.

Are Generic Drugs Less Expensive than Name-Brand Drugs?

In most cases, YES. The cost of researching, developing and marketing a new drug- including the money spent advertising the product- are factored into the price of the branded drug. Generic manufacturers spend considerably less on development and promotion, and therefore can afford to sell their product for less money.

Is the More Expensive Name-Brand Drug of a Better Quality?

No, the quality is the same. Both have to meet the same rigorous requirements.

Who Makes Generic Drugs?

Some are manufactured by the same pharmaceutical companies that make brand drugs; others are produced by pharmaceutical companies specializing in the manufacturing of generics. All prescription drug manufacturers must meet rigid FDA, WHO and GMP approval.

Does hot sauce effect high blood pressure?

Hot sauce usually has a lot of sodium, so that may contribute to high blood pressure, but as for the acids which contribute to spiciness, I’m not sure of anything linking them to high blood pressure or heart disease.

Does Salt REALLY effect high blood pressure?

salt restriction will only help if a person has the type of hypertension caused by excess "volume". This type of patient will respond to a diurectic medication. However, there are other types of hypertension where salt restriction will have little or no effect.

I've seen several doctors since being diagnosed with hypertension, and none of them have mentioned the word
"salt". Since I'm already thin, none have said "diet" either.
